Nurse Practitioner, Modena Allergy + Asthma of La Jolla

Samantha Arnold, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, was born and raised in Sunny San Diego. She attended UCLA for her undergraduate studies in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology. While volunteering at Ronald Reagan Hospital, she witnessed the compassionate care of nurses and was influenced by a nurse practitioner to pursue a career in nursing.

Samantha returned to school to pursue nursing as a second career after experience in the financial and real estate sectors. She received her Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) degree from CSU San Marcos. Equipped with a strong foundation in nursing, she embarked on a journey of over five years in critical care at UC San Diego Health Jacobs ICU. This experience not only honed her medical skills but also reinforced her commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. While working in the COVID ICU, Samantha decided to return to school once more to pursue her ultimate goal of becoming a nurse practitioner.

Beyond the confines of the hospital, she found another passion – educating and mentoring the next generation of nurses. As a highly dedicated adjunct clinical faculty at CSU San Marcos, she shares her practical knowledge and real-world insight to help aspiring nurses thrive in their studies and future careers.

Samantha’s hobbies include traveling with her family and exploring new cultures, active participation in multiple book clubs, ardent advocate for fitness, acts as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and holds a role in a local school board foundation to enhance the educational opportunities for youth.

The rapidly evolving landscape of allergy and asthma research allows for continuous learning and growth, aligning with her passion for education and staying current in best practice. Through her role as an allergy and asthma nurse practitioner, she aims to bridge the gap between medical advancements and patient care, ultimately enhancing the well-being of those living with these chronic conditions. She strives to inspire, heal and lead with compassion and dedication.
